If you really want to make your life productive, stress-free, concentrated then this thing will help you a lot. I am talking about Reading Habit. I know you know already that it’s good for everyone but still most of the people are not able to manage form the habit.
But before giving you any suggestions and motivation, let’s, first of all, discuss why you should do it. In this blog, I will share some basic reasons why you should read.
Wait you are thinking that, you need a solution or method by which you can form a reading habit. Don’t worry, I already have a separate blog ready where I will discuss how easily you can form a reading habit. Temporarily just read this positively and prepare your mindset that you will try to form a reading habit again but this time with proper techniques and more effectively.
Now let’s discuss the reasons, why you should have a reading habit.
Its an exercise for the brain
It’s already proven that the brain is like a muscle, you can make it stronger by exercising regularly. And the one of the simple exercises for the brain is reading. If you read, your neurons will make stronger and stronger connections.
“Use it or lose it”. Science also proved that if a person does not read, the brain will lose memory power and it also increases the chances of Alzheimer.
Reading has been proven to keep our minds young, healthy and sharp.
Make you feel Stress-free
When you are in stress, have lots of worries in your head, reading can help you forget about all of your problems for a while and can make you feel relaxed. It’s a feeling of satisfaction you will get once you read.
Improve Concentration and focus
I read when I am relaxed and when I am reading, I create a distraction-free environment. And specifically, put my phone away and keep it in silent mode.
After that when I start reading a book, I sometimes don’t care about the time, a number of pages read, what’s happening around me, I just go with the flow. During that time, my mind is focused on the story.
My focus is not coming consciously but it comes naturally always. I don’t know the scientific reason but that’s my experience.
A recent study found that a mere six minutes of reading was shown to reduce muscle tension, and slowed down the heart rates of readers as well. Overall, it reduced stress levels by an impressive 68%.
Solution-based books help a lot
One of the very famous books by James clear “Atomic Habits”, He said that to form any habit, you should have a system, method or mechanism. He also added that people believe that willpower will help them make a habit of exercising daily. This is not true because willpower does not remain for a longer period. And that’s why motivational books won’t make much difference for a longer-term but some of the books written are based on solutions, these solution-based books have methods or systems to implement in your life.
I believe that these kinds of books help you a lot.
As we all know that to build a healthy body can not be achieved overnight. Same way, reading a book will not show you the result overnight or it will not release the dopamine instantly, but it will surely give you results in 5 or 10 years.
