How to register with ACCA?

Hello ACCA aspirant, hope you are doing well. Here at Career Compass, we are not just lecturers, but we are here to mentor students to support them in every manner. In this space we have highlighted about how to register for ACCA. But first, let us give you a brief about ACCA registration and it’s Exemptions

ACCA Registration and claiming Exemptions
  • Once you meet the set requirements, you would then be required to register yourself with the ACCA body. This would require you to set up a myACCA account from the following link: ACCA Registration
  • Filling up the application form, you would need you to upload the following documents:
    • Passport size photo
    • Identification proof
    • Marriage certificate (in case of name change)
    • Official Certificates pertaining to prior qualification

If any of the documents are not in english, you would also be required to upload an official english translation along with the original documents, stamped by a licensed translator who is authorized and qualified to provide translation services.

  • ACCA also grants ‘Exemptions’ to students from certain subjects, avoiding the need to appear for examinations pertaining to those subjects. The exemptions from subjects, varying case to case, is granted based on prior qualification of the student, as awarded by a recognized institution.

Students can check their available exemptions from the exemption calculator from the following link: ACCA Exemption Calculator. Also note, that no exemptions are awarded at the Strategic Professional level.

A list of exemptions available for a few recognized qualifications is as follows:

B.Com / M.com = AB, MA, FA, LW

CA – IPCC (Qualified) = AB, MA, FA, TX, AA

CA – IPCC (Pursuing) = AB, MA, FA, TX / AA

B.Com + IPCC = AB, MA, FA, LW, TX, AA

CA Qualified = AB, MA, FA, LW, PM, TX, FR, AA, FM (Entire Fundamental Level)

MBA = AB, MA, FA

Claiming exemptions is however not mandatory, and if required, student can also waive off the exemptions and opt to sit for those subject’s examination.

  • Once the exemptions have been decided, and confirmed, associated fee i.e. exemption fee would then be required to be paid, based on each subject’s exemption claimed. You will soon receive an email from ACCA confirming the various exemptions granted, which would then be reflected in your myACCA account as a progress status.
  • Finally, you would be required to submit the Registration fee, to complete the process. The amount to be paid, can be checked here: ACCA Fees and Charges.

The registration application cannot be finalized without the payment of relevant fee. So as long as you won’t pay the fee, you won’t be allowed to book any examination.

  • The entire ACCA registration process isn’t much complex, however still ACCA body has further provided assistance to students by approving certain institutions to guide them through the process.
